I have 17 years of hands on experience and specialize in large scale systems integration, solutions design, and information security. I have expert knowledge of many operating systems including Sun Solaris, HP/UX, Linux, and all Microsoft Windows platforms.  The last six years include a significant focus on information and network security,  performing many risk and security assessments as well as technical remediation.  I have years of experience and expert knowledge of LAN/WAN communications.  In addition to my broad technical expertise, I have significant technical sales, field, and management experience.  I believe my ability to build strong relationships with internal and external customers, and the high level of technical expertise I posses, provides an organization with a dual resource / asset.  I have a proven track record of positively impacting a company's bottom line.

Professional Experience
April 2004 - Present

ParaLogic, LLC

Plantation, FL

Information Security - Technology Consultant

I am currently performing medium to large scale network security assessments for government agencies, information technology firms, market research firms, law firms, and institutes of higher learning. In many cases, I am contracted to perform secondary / tertiary penetration tests. This is due to my ability to identify vulnerabilities, exploits, system configuration errors, and entry points that many others overlook. The primary reason for my ability to identify critical security issues is my broad range of platform and network skills and many years of experience performing these tasks.

In addition to network security services I work with businesses to design, implement, and support a broad range of secure technology solutions. This includes platform migrations, highly available cluster solutions, complex data communications, and perimeter defense systems, all with security in mind from the ground up.

I am routinely called upon to provide technical guidance and direction for businesses that rely heavily on information technology. I've performed contract technical sales, proposal development, and project management for many customers.

March 2002 - March 2004

American Document Management

Fort Lauderdale, FL

Chief Technology Officer - Executive Committee Member

In March of 2002, I was offered a position as Chief Technology Officer (CTO) by one of my clients, American Document Management.  This organization was faced with many technology challenges. I was able to address many of these challenges in a short period of time prior to becoming a member of the AmDoc team.

Given the positive impact I had on the organization as a consultant, AmDoc believed I would be able to assist in the overall growth of the organization. By continuing the technological development of the enterprise systems, putting in place the appropriate technology personnel, and planning for growth, AmDoc realized a cost effective and secure technology infrastructure.

During my tenor as CTO of AmDoc, I continued to develop the security practice started in 2001. During my tenor at AmDoc, I assisted directly and indirectly with sales initiatives. This resulted in increased customer satisfaction and additional services revenue, including a multi-year security assessment contract worth well over six figures.

Jan 2001 - March 2004

ParaLogic, LLC.

Avondale, PA

Information Security - Technology Consultant

In January of 2001 I started ParaLogic, LLC., an Information Technology consulting firm with a specific focus on network security assessments and remediation.  My objective was to secure several large accounts and focus on them in order to provide clients with personalized service and dedicated attention.

My client list grew to over 30 customers within the first year.  During this time I worked on network security solutions, design, and support for large healthcare organizations, the finance industry, information technology firms, and government agencies.

In addition to information security solutions, I provided customers with a broad range of technical expertise and support.  Many of my customers  worked with large system integration firms prior to working with me but found it difficult to work with them on various levels.  Because of my broad range of technical skill and ability to build strong personal relationships, they were able to address their business technology needs in a cost effective manner.

AmeriStar Technologies, Inc.

New Castle, DE

Senior Network Architect

In January 1997 I joined the AmeriStar Technologies team.  AmeriStar was a large Systems Integration company that offered a broad range of technical services and products.  The company had significant contracts with state and local government as well as private sector organizations ranging from banking to healthcare.

I was hired by AmeriStar to increase their level of systems engineering expertise. My initial role was that of field engineer and responsible for customer support, systems design and implementation, and support of the sales staff.  As a result of my technical expertise and support of my engineering associates, I was promoted to director of technical services approximately 8 months into my tenor.

I immediately instituted several programs including the development of a technical pre-sales department. The objective was to assist the sales staff with developing and closing new opportunities.  This endeavor was very successful and resulted in significant increase in opportunity closure.

Prior to being promoted to Director of Technical Services. I secured several of the largest services projects in the company's history.  This included a $1,000,000 Sun Microsystems design and implementation project for one of the worlds largest ship building company's.

Nov 1989 - May 1994

Independent Programmer

Newark, DE

C/C++ and Assembler Programmer

I started my technical career as an independent application developer.  I developed significant expertise in C/C++ on both UNIX and x86 platforms.  I primarily worked with the telecommunications industry developing applications that allowed their field engineers to efficiently program telephony and data-com systems.

I gained significant operating system and LAN/WAN experience during this portion of my career because I worked very closely with the Technical Operations Department at the University of Delaware.  Here I received early exposure to large scale UNIX and VMS systems as well as routing and switching communications technology.  I have been well versed in major routing and routable protocols for many years.
